Coach Echeverria, League Coordinator

Raising the Stars of the Future. In 2000, the Oak Park Soccer League began with 48 children ages 9-12, on 4 teams with 6 volunteers. By 2009, the total number of teams reached 36, with hundreds of players. Would you like to play in the Oak Park Soccer League? Here's an application.

Our Mission. The mission of the Oak Park Soccer League is to provide a positive recreational experience for children in the area as an alternative to the negative attractions of the streets, through a culturally relevant medium like soccer.

League Goals. Among other goals, Oak Park Soccer seeks to promote participation by female players, and to provide opportunities for adults living in the area to participate in youth-oriented activities that result in improved parent-child relationships and increased community organization.

Coaching. Salvador Echeverria has been the Coordinator for the last ten years and is responsible for making the daily decisions that make teams want to play in this league. As a participant in the Oak Park Soccer League, you will be invited to attend Coach's Meetings to provide input on how to improve the league for everyone's benefit.

Rabobank, N.A., Funds $15,000 Grant for Oak Park Teens At Work

Since joining forces with the well-known local MidState Bank, Rabobank, N.A., continues to conduct its business affairs as a community bank on the Central Coast, investing in local causes and concerns important to the community, to benefit those most in need. Their most recent show of support for Paso Robles was funding a $15,000 grant to the Oak Park Teens At Work program.

Through their statewide Community Development Grant Program, bolstered by local bank representatives' support, the Rabobank California Grant Committee chose to contribute to Paso Robles's Oak Park residents, and particularly the successful new Teens At Work program. The pilot Teens At Work program was funded by the Housing Authority through this past summer with fantastic results, and now Rabobank's generous grant has made it possible for the expansion of the program during the current school year. The Paso Robles Housing Authority thanks Rabobank for this terrific show of local community investment in Oak Park youth.
